Excerpt from the talk "The One Life. Love the common life!” held by the Master 85 years ago:

There are certain internal contradictions in life. They contradict each other in one way or another. The great law which directs things removes them in various ways. Now I am talking about the contradictions that people create for themselves. They are of a different nature. They are individual in nature. But certain contradictions exist within life itself, p which man must deal with. These contradictions are an internal drive. There are other phenomena, facts in nature that must be observed.

For 9 months, the child has changed in the most cramped conditions, in the womb of his mother. Could not a saint come by any other means? If he could, they would come. And then, that saint is gradually released. We sometimes resent the contradictions that exist...

A wise man should always understand the good in nature and look forward to what is to come. And not to imagine an order of things that does not exist. For example, we imagine that one day people will live in brotherhood. Some will live, but in order to live fraternally, a coup must take place in them. You must have one understanding, you must have one foundation. For people to live well, very favorable conditions are required. Under such conditions as we find ourselves in, it is impossible to live fraternally. Even in a family where there are siblings, there is still some dispute...

You will say: "Why is that?" - Very naturally. Take it in nature, sometimes accidents often happen in Niagara Falls. Some young people go out for a walk on Niagara Falls. This current from above runs very quietly. Some rich people ride their boats and think they can go against the tide. But sometimes this current lifts them so strongly and drags them along that they cannot return to the shore. And then all the boats go down and lose their lives.

Well, sometimes we fall into a small slope and as we go imperceptibly this slope goes down and then it is impossible to cope. This is the mistake that many make. Don't play with the big tilts that no one has solved the questions…

Someone is born strong, he can boast about it, but this strong man did not create his strength. He has to thank that 10–20 generations worked and he is now strong. Your grandfather, your grandmother and many other generations worked and gave you their strength. And you have to work, otherwise one day you might lose her. Now your grandfather, your grandmother and your father are not separate and you are not a separate being. All of you enter, like these lines, into one whole. When all these lines are related, then all in the world represent, in the world, one whole. And you must understand the law of the whole.

You want to know, for example, what kind of thing God is. God is what sustains the life of all people. Every good impulse that comes to you, every free thought and every action comes from God. That which pleases you is God. When you grieve, it's God again, maybe in you... Grief and joy - they are two processes that in nature do some things that people don't suspect. A tribulation, after 10-15 years, and perhaps after 4-5 generations, can produce excellent results…

Loving life is important. We don't love life now. Living depends on loving life. Therefore, the love of common life is necessary. Let us have love for one life, only then will a morality be established, only then can love be awakened. If you love common life, when you see a creature in which life is present, you will be pleased...

Well, sometimes we burden ourselves with excessive suffering. We want to achieve something. For example, we want to fix the world. This is a presumption - to think that the world is not settled. The world is ordered, but our lives are not. That's the philosophy. A father cannot teach his son to live, but a father can teach his son to love life. But to teach him to live, that is impossible. The son is free now. There is already individual freedom. Some person may say to you: "I can show you how to live." - That person will ask: "How do you live?" - The first will answer him: "I eat little, I don't overeat, I don't sleep much - four hours a day, I don't go to pubs. I do clever things with the world, because there must be something in the world to occupy us within the world.'

True resolution lies in loving life. True life carries within itself the true goods, all the goods. Someone will say: "How can life bring all the good things?" Imagine that I am a healthy person. A magnetic force emanates from a healthy person - health...

God has made men heirs in the world. Don't be intimidated by the bad people in the world. You have one great wealth - life. He settles the matter and one must be strong in spirit, mind, heart and soul. The despondency that sometimes overtakes you is a great stumbling block to living. I'm not saying you can't live. I am addressing the issue of life. I am not addressing the issue that you are not giving properly. Get out into nature, get free, breathe fresh air! There is all that wealth, air is not for sale. You will go out freely on the mountain and up there you will receive air.

You fall into despondency - go upstairs and you will change your mind. There you will find those people whose hearts are on fire with love. You are discouraged, you will find those people who are not discouraged. Look for them…

When I meet a good man, my heart flutters and I say, "I wish to be like him." When I meet a musician, my heart flutters and I say, "I also wish to be like him."

Let's not say, "I can't do this job. "Every one of you can learn and sing and play and think and feel…

One should sing to the Lord, say: "Lord, thank You! I will sing to You." Both by singing and by playing, may the Lord see that I am progressing in the world. The good life means playing and singing. And you sit and think all your life what to do.

This morning I see a cat sitting in front of the stairs, curled up, lying down and sleeping. I say: if this cat can be satisfied, why can't a person be satisfied? A person is how many times bigger than a cat. We should thank God for the goods we bring. We are not grateful for the blessings that God has placed in us.

God cares for all beings. The world is fixed, only we, the few people on earth, have not come to the consciousness of fulfilling the will of God. As religious people, secular people, poets, philosophers think, the world cannot develop properly. There is a natural path that life can take. Not that you don't know these things, but you need very little. You need one more match each. Nothing more! You have come to the point where you only need a match to light someone on fire. And everything will be fine. But you will scratch the match and light it. Because otherwise you will say: "He set me on fire!" And you have to set yourself on fire. Of course, there is nothing better than getting someone fired up. By ignition, I understand the following: When the Divine flame comes, to see the good, the beautiful in all the contradictions - then the fire has ignited.

Clean water can wash away all the mud. The divine in us, that strong, powerful in us that can make life right, that is the constant in life. Don't be discouraged! The torrent came, the mud came, the clear water will deal with all the contradictions. I understand this: When we come to live the reasonable life, all the contradictions in the world will disappear. First of all, the contradiction must disappear in you, you must accept this life. There is no contradiction in God. There is no contradiction in heaven. There is no contradiction in the advanced worlds. There is a contradiction in our land...

Some trouble has come to you in life. You are not the one who has this trouble. Some doubt came to you, it is not you who has this doubt. Thousands of people have this doubt. It's not just you who's poor. Millions of people are poor. Well, at a given moment, a person can solve one question. A match, in a given case, can solve a question that thousands and millions of trees cannot solve. Divine thoughts are distinguished by having this flame, this ardour, this fire within them. When a man has this fire within him, it ignites and then life begins. That you have come to a phase where you must learn to ignite the Divine from everywhere… A learned man anywhere can make his way.

I notice a dividing line between you. Connect with the people of the world… Let's put their ideas aside. Their ideas are their business. It's a costume, but they have something in common with us. This is the life we all need. Because if your brother lives - you will live too. If the wind enters the house, life will enter, but if you close all the holes in the house so that the wind does not enter and you catch a cold, you will get sick. And if you run away from the light so that it does not disturb you, if you want to isolate yourself from the light, then you will also get sick. Light is needed in the world.

Have that faith that wise children have... Have faith that can be turned into knowledge. I'm not just for faith. You believe that you can go to Varna. It's a good thing, but you have to get on the train and go to Varna. Then it is no longer faith. At first you will believe, but you have to try. Faith must lead to knowledge. And knowledge leads to the realization of things.

You want me to tell you some things. I have made many attempts. Someone wants to be treated and says to me: "Can't you give me some medicine?" I tell him: "You don't need any medicine. You need to breathe more deeply and eat less. Besides, you breathe a little and eat a lot. A third of you will remain hungry." He says to me: "Is that possible?" - "Maybe, maybe, eat a little and breathe a lot! Worry a little and think a lot!'

Someone says, “I don't think much.” No, you will think a lot and worry a little. And even better is the following: Don't worry at all, but think a lot - when the worry comes to deal with it... The Lord will fix this matter. If there are good people and if you have friends, this thing will work out. The one comes up and says, "How's he going to be okay?" The other pats him on the back, takes it out and gives it to him from his pocket, says, "Don't think so." We say, "God will work things out." But you reach into your pocket you, show that God has begun to arrange people's affairs through you. I would like the Lord to arrange things through all of you. Workers are now required.

Every good thought that comes out of our mind goes into space and works to realize the Kingdom of God. Now good thoughts must go into space. The entire space must be filled with new ideas. They are little seeds that work. People who are pessimistic say, “What is to be done now?” For the world to ask what is to be done, I understand, but for you to ask this?…

If we, in these difficult times, cannot show that we love, that we have love for God, how will we cope with the hardships? By God I mean that which is in all men. God is not only outside, but also in all the sufferers within. He comforts every sufferer and tells him: "Do not be afraid, I will arrange your affairs." Be patient." And when someone dies, God says to him: "Do not be afraid, you will come to Me." He comforts everyone. I see the free man, when he dies, his face is calm, like that of a saint. God says to him: "Your suffering will cease. This is a test that will pass." And after it passes, when love comes to you, this is your gain. By passing suffering and gaining love, knowledge and freedom, this is your gain. By going through suffering and gaining love, knowledge and freedom, that is the gain. If I die and gain love, if I die and gain knowledge and freedom, then what is there? I can look at death, it holds me and I hold it - and death will say to me: "I have no order to treat you badly. You are free."

Now you all have to understand life. You must all love knowledge, freedom. This is required now and must be worked on…

You will leave rheumatism and other such diseases aside. When you start thinking correctly, when you love life, when you become free and enter the new life, you will not have these things. All these disturbances are diabolical works. Christ says, "That soul which Satan had bound, should I not have loosed it?" All these strings must be broken - and the rich is bound and the poor is bound.

What the poor can acquire, the rich cannot acquire. What the rich can acquire, the poor cannot acquire. Without wealth, you cannot develop your generosity. Through what goes out, the rich man develops his generosity. And the poor will receive what he needs and will be grateful. This law exists in the great nature.

Every day you should be rich and something should come out of you. And if you can't play the role of rich man and poor man, you're lost. And when you give and when you take, in both cases you should know that you are serving that great purpose of life. To serve humanity both as rich and as poor. We must serve humanity. There are rich and poor who do not know why they are rich and poor. I want the rich and the poor to know why they are rich and poor. These are honorable poverty and honorable wealth.

And when the rich and the poor meet, they will walk hand in hand. Both will walk and talk friendly and thank each other. One will say, “I am glad that you are rich.” And the other will say, “I am also glad that you are poor. I wish I could be in your place, but I can't.” The general cannot step into the soldier's place. He must command, and the soldier cannot replace the general. Both can be grateful, but they cannot replace each other's services. When the war is over, the troops are disbanded and everyone throws on his uniform. So the question is put differently, but in the given case, where you are put - that's who you are. If you are a soldier, poor or rich, but life is one, and other things are a privilege. Both poverty and wealth are a privilege…

Wealth is a finished process. The rich man cannot think, nor can he work. Is it better for the loaded horse or the unloaded one? A rich man is a loaded horse. You have an idea, you have to realize it. And if you don't realize it, you will be unhappy. Things must be accomplished in order to free man from those restrictive conditions under which he now finds himself.

The advanced among you should understand that. There is no other permission. The permission that will give power is this. It is a law within nature. If you love God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul, and with all your spirit, what is there to worry about? Tell me, God, who created the whole universe, all these worlds, does he leave you hungry? If they don't want you here on earth, He will send you to another world, to a better one, to heaven itself. Unbelief says to you, "Who knows?" Then you will find the one who knows. Just as the sick will find someone to treat him, he will find the doctor to treat him. As the poor will find the rich and as the child will find its mother, so you will find the one who knows. You can go around the whole world, but if you don't find it here, you will find it in the other world and you will have an experience then.
