7 questions to find out what you want to do with your life

 

What I want to do with my life? It's a question we all think about at one point or another.

For some, the answer comes easily. For others, it takes a lifetime.

It's easy to just go through life and keep doing what's comfortable and familiar. But for those of you looking for something more, these questions will help you paint a clearer picture of what want to do with life you are

1. What are the things that interest you the most?

The first step to a more fulfilling life is to think about the things you are passionate about.

It is essential to know where your passion lies so that you can recognize exactly what drives you and makes you happy.

So ask yourself:

What do you love? What "work" do you do that doesn't feel like work? Maybe you enjoy writing, maybe you like working with animals, or maybe you have a knack for photography.

Once you know what do you like to do, do more.

2. What are my greatest achievements in life so far?

Think about your past experiences and the things in your life that you are most proud of.

How do these achievements make you feel? Very good, right? So why not try emulating these experiences and feelings?

If you ran a marathon once and loved the feeling you got afterwards, start training for another. If your child has become a star athlete or musician because of your training, then be a coach or mentor to other children.

Keep doing the things that have been most enjoyable for you.

3. If my life had absolutely no boundaries, what would I choose to have and what would I choose to do?

Here's a great exercise: Think about what you would do if you had no limitations.

If you had all the money and time in the world, where would you go? What would you do? Who would you spend time with?

These answers can help you figure out what you want to do with your life. That doesn't mean you need millions of dollars to be happy.

This means that answering these questions will help you set goals to reach certain milestones and create a path to happiness and fulfillment.

Stop thinking about limitations and what might be impossible, it's about how much you want to pursue that thing you've chosen.

4. What are my goals in life?

Goals are a necessary component to set you up for a happy future. So answer these questions:

What are your health goals?

What are your career goals?

What are your family goals?

6. What do I not like to do?

An important part of figuring out what you want to do with your life is an honest assessment of what you don't want to do.

What are the things you despise? What bothers you the most about your current job?

Maybe you hate meetings even though you spend 6 hours in them every day. If that's the case, find a job where you can work more independently.

The point is, if you want something to change in your life, you have to take action. Which leads to our final question…

7. How hard am I willing to work to get what I want? What do I want to do with my life?

Great achievements never come easily. If you want to do great things with your life, you will have to put in great effort. This will likely mean putting in more layman hours, stepping outside your comfort zone and learning as much as you can to achieve as much as you can.

But here's the great part: often the journey is the most fulfilling part. During these seemingly small, insignificant moments, you will often find those "aha" moments that help you answer the question "What I want to do with my life?”

So take the first step towards improving your life. It's never too late to do what you're passionate about and what you really want!
