Now let's see how the imagination works. How do doubt or faith affect healing? Let's look at it through the "lemon image".

Make yourself comfortable. Imagine a nice juicy lemon. Take it in your hand, feel the slightly rough porous hard surface, feel its weight, volume.

Imagine the color, the smell, the matte reflections of the light on it. Bring it close to your face, inhale deeply its aroma. Remember its cool moist, juicy interior. Mentally open your mouth and take a large bite.

Now let's see how the body reacts to this imaginary lemon. Is your mouth full of saliva? Right?

The question is: were you pushing your glands? Did you tell them:

– Come on, produce saliva! Did you say to your stomach: - Come on, release gastric juice! Nothing like that, you just imagined you were eating a lemon and that's it. The body did the rest without your participation. The stomach prepared to digest the non-existent lemon and now it is angry with you, looks up at the esophagus:

- You promised me a lemon, didn't you! Where is?

The "image of the lemon" is one of the mechanisms that underlies our work on ourselves.

The principle of brain activity of the mature person is general: the brain works through mediators such as words. The word "health" is the medium through which you want to possess what you call health.

Now close your eyes and think about health. What appears in your head and in your body? Nothing!

Let's take part in another little experiment on the topic "I want to be healthy". The exercise has the poetic scientific name "Splash".

With your eyes closed, imagine a huge juicy bengal nut, open your mouth and take a big bite! Chew, chew, chew until the end of the world! What's happening?

I know exactly what question has popped into your head. What is a bengal nut?

I'll tell you like a man straight and clear: the devil knows it! If I knew, I would certainly describe it to you. But I made up this phrase myself.

When you set the goal, "I want to be healthy," your body is similarly confused, as you now from the "Bengal nut", and asks: – What is that? My lord, say what you will. Describe it to me in accessible language.

Why does the body react to "lemon"? Because while you were thinking about the lemon, you were imagining the volume, the weight, the color, the aroma, right? What is the difference - the sick person who says he wants to be healthy is confusing his body. What exactly does he want?

Every statement of yours such as "I want to be healthy" is perceived by the body as "not panimayu".

The word "health" for him is abracadabra. Because it refers to the second signaling system, which acts very weakly in the field of healing.

And the words "You have a cockroach in your pants" immediately send shivers down your spine. Yes or no? If not, catch a fat cockroach and let it down your pants. Remember how it is. So! But you probably imagined it perfectly even without an experiment! Because you have seen cockroaches, you are wearing underpants, you immediately imagine the image in reality and the reaction occurs.

This is where I discovered another regularity in getting stuck in the disease. From the good intention, from the good desire to be healthy, you fall into nothingness. Attention! When starting work on vision (or any other problem), set yourself a clear, precise and specific task. The body will immediately begin to carry it out.

By artificially creating the image of healing, creating the joy that you will heal, you begin to consciously manage your body, because you give it a specific task. And he is forced to obey and perform without quip.

In the "image of the lemon" you did not even think about the saliva, it appears by itself. The body reacts to the word. The bottom line is: thought and image are material.

So, through the image, you master the management of the entire organism. This is your main throne order.

And now one more preparatory exercise - "The image of the five fingers". Raise your palm in front of your face and choose one of the fingers of your hand. Watch it carefully. Study it lovingly from all sides. Give him your thoughts through the eyes, through the soul, through the spirit. Put your brightest and most sincere feelings into this exercise. Don't forget the smile.

What do you notice? How does this finger feel compared to others? Do you notice that his sensations are increasingly differentiating him from the rest of the fingers? With what more precisely? What do you feel? Heat? Weight gain? Stabbing? Swelling? Throbbing? Exactly. Perhaps you have other individual feelings.

Some students say: – I can only feel this finger. It's as if the others are gone.

Focused attention on a certain part of the body triggers the activation of additional receptors, increases its informativeness. Your attention changes sensitivity where you direct it. So you influence the part in question, and not only positively, but also negatively - according to the emotions and thoughts you put into it.

This is the so-called ideomotor reaction — the organism reacts to the corresponding thoughts.

Or another example. Haven't I bored you with my examples? Good!

Have you ever bathed in a river or sea? Stupid question - but yes! Then close your eyes and remember a hot noon. Blue sky, the water sparkles under the rays of the bright sun, seagulls fly by, a sailing ship sails in the distance, music is heard. Children joyfully call each other on the shore.

You go up to your shoulders in the water. The waves race to caress your body.

Visualize it more clearly and your body will respond. What a delight! A light wind blows into your damp face. Close your eyes and imagine yourself standing in the water. A motorboat passes, a large wave approaches you. You wait for her with bated breath. And a second wave. What do you feel? A gentle sway in the water and chills on a hot day!

This is the ideomotor response. Every cell in the body responds to your thoughts.

So confidence in one's strength is reflected in the whole body, in every cell.

When you believe that you are a Man with a capital letter, when you know that you are the most beautiful woman on earth, that you are a man instead, then the appearance, and behavior, and the results of your every effort correspond to your inner state.

Thought is material, my dears, don't forget that! The ancient sages said it: "Before you think, think!"
