The splendor of Bulgari in the center of Rome

World famous brand Bulgari opens a new hotel in the heart of Rome

Expected in 2022, the Bvlgari Roma Hotel is the biggest source of inspiration for the world-famous brand. The hotel will be located in Rome, the heart of the Campo Marzio district, minutes from the Spanish Steps and Via del Corso.

The new Bvlgari Hotel Roma will occupy a magnificent modernist building from the 1930s that faces two of Rome's most iconic landmarks: the Ara Pacis and the Mausoleum of Augustus, the first Roman emperor.

Like all Bvlgari Hotels properties, the Italian architecture firm of Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel will be responsible for both the restoration of the building and the interior design of the new Bvlgari Hotel Roma, which will have over 100 rooms, most of which are suites, such as the prestigious Il Ristorante curated by Michelin star chef Nico Romito and The Bvlgari Bar.

Materials such as ocher travertine marble and burnt red brick emphasize the connection to the ancient Rome of Emperor Augustus, while the rotating collection of modern and ancient art evokes magnificently different aspects of the Eternal City's rich heritage as one of the world's most beautiful cities and an enduring cradle of arts and culture.

Expected in 2022, it is poised to become a temple to Bvlgari's heritage in the city that has given so much to the Italian jeweller.

Bulgari is an Italian company producing luxury goods (jewelry, watches, perfumes, leather accessories) and owning luxury hotels. Since October 2011, Bulgari has been part of the LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton) group and is among the largest jewelry companies in the world.

The founder of the company is Sotirios from the village of Kalarites in Latsovla.

Sotirios began his career as a jeweler in Paramitia (Epirus, Greece), where his first shop can still be seen. In 1877 he went to the island of Corfu and then to Naples. In 1881, Sotirios moved to Rome, where in 1884 he founded his company, opening his second store on Via Sistina. The store on Via Sistina was then replaced by the current flagship store on Via Condotti, opened in 1905, already with the help of his two sons, Constantine (1889 – 1973) and Giorgio (1890 – 1966).

With the founding of the Cinecita film studios in Rome, movie stars Elizabeth Taylor, Marlene Dietrich, Clark Gable, Gary Cooper, Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, Romy Schneider, Gina Lollobrigida and others became regular visitors to the Bulgari Roman boutique.
