One day, in a very rich family, the father took his son on an excursion into the country, to show him how poor the people lived, to teach him the true value of their wealth and business, and to prepare him to help him in management.
They spent several days and nights at the farm of hospitable but rather poor people. After they returned from the excursion, the father asked his son:
-How was the trip?
- It was great, Dad. he answered.
- Have you seen how poor people live? - asked the father.
- Oh, yes - answered the son.
-Then tell me what you learned from the trip? – asked the old man again.
The son answered:
-I saw that we have one dog and they have four.
- We have a pool that reaches the middle of the garden, and they have a stream that has no end.
- We have put lanterns in the garden, and they they have all the stars in the sky.
-Our patio extends to our front yard, and they they have the entire horizon.
- We have workers who serve us, and they serve others.
-We buy our food and they grow theirs.
- We have walls around the house to protect us, and they they have many friends, which protect them.
The father remained speechless!
Then the son added
-Thank you dad for showing me how poor we are!
