1. Some of them are men and some are women. You can see them in a monastery or in a suburban house, in the forest or in a small country town. True, they are not many, but they are still more than people think.
And that's not because spiritual growth is a complicated thing. The sad truth is that most people don't want to harass themselves to get out of the swamp of ignorance and passions.
2. At first you will not notice the enlightened person in the crowd because he is quiet and modest. But when things start to get complicated, that's when he stands out. When everyone else feels rage, he will be full of love. When others are troubled by some crisis, he will be as calm as before.
In the frenzied struggle where everyone wants to get as much as possible, he will stand composed and calm in the corner. He walks smoothly on the edge of the blade, he is steady in the midst of panic. He does not want to emphasize his difference, but he is simply free from desires, and this makes him completely self-sufficient.
His calm presence touches everyone. His gentle, reasoned words unite those who are at odds and bring together those who are already united. The grieving, the frightened and the troubled feel much better after talking to him. The wild animals feel his kindness and are not afraid of him.
3. He doesn't always speak his mind or stand up for his point of view, in fact it seems like he doesn't have any opinion and so people often mistake him for a fool. When he doesn't worry about it, or retaliate, or abuse or ridicule, people think there's something wrong with him.
But he doesn't care what people think of him. It's like he's mute, that's because he just prefers to keep quiet. He acts as if he is blind, but in reality he sees everything that goes on around him. People think he is weak, but in reality he is very strong. Despite its deceptive appearance, it is razor sharp.
4. His face is always radiant and calm because he never worries about what happened yesterday and what will happen tomorrow. His bearing and movements are graceful and dignified because he has a natural awareness of everything he does.
His voice is pleasant to listen to, polite, to the point and to the point. He is beautiful in a way that has nothing to do with outward appearance and eloquence, but with his inner goodness.
5. He may have a home, but if he burns down today, he will go somewhere else tomorrow and feel just as comfortable. It feels like home everywhere. He is the type of person who tries to reduce the number of his own belongings and always feels that they are too much.
It doesn't matter how much is given to him - it always seems to him that it is quite enough. Of course, he also strives to satisfy his vital needs, but they are significantly smaller. His life is clean and simple, he is satisfied with what he meets on his way.
The best food for him is Joy, the best drink is Truth, the best home is Awareness.
6. Ordinary people are noisy like the sound of a brook, but spiritually grown people are quiet like the depths of the ocean. The enlightened one loves silence and glorifies silence. But that doesn't mean he never opens his mouth.
7. His mind is neither chaotic nor dormant. When he needs to think - he thinks, when he doesn't - he allows himself to be quiet. For him, these are tools, not problems. He still has memories, emotions and ideas, but he is indifferent to them.
To him, they are just a magical illusion. He observes them in the order of their origin - how they come and how they go. His mind is like a clear sky - clouds pass by, but it remains spacious, pure and unchanging.
8. Макар и да е чист във всяко отношение, духовно израсналият не мисли за себе си дали е по-добър или по-лош от някой друг. Той приема другите такива, каквито са, без осъждане или сравнение. Той не е „за“ или „против“ каквото и да било.
It does not see things in terms of good and evil, clean and dirty, success and failure. He understands the duality of the world and has gone beyond its limits. Thus he has freed himself from everything. No desires, no fears, no concepts, no anxieties.
9. Not too long ago, he was just as miserable as everyone else. How did he get here? In reality, everything is very simple. He stopped looking for the reasons outside himself and started looking inside.
When he looked inside, he saw that what he defines himself with, that is what he clings to - body, emotions, concepts, problems, but all this is not him. And so he just let it all go. Now he resides in this void, in this unlimited freedom, and is happy all the time.
Другите се опитват да го класифицират като свят, а понякога и глупак. Но той се смее, когато чува тези етикети и нарича себе си „никой“. Как можете да оцените този, който е излязъл от всякакви граници?
10. Since he has completed his task and has nothing more to do, much of his time is spent sitting quietly and observing his own actions.
Обикновените хора смятат това за много скучно. „Дайте ми вълнение, разнообразие“ – казват те. Но когато дойде вълнение или разнообразие от това, което не харесват – болест, неуспех, отказ или смърт – тогава изпадат в отчаяние.
That's when he quietly steps forward to help and heal. And since he has plenty of time, he can devote himself entirely to other people. He touches everything with his love.
11. He is happy to wait like this until the very end, and when death finally comes, he accepts it without fear and walks on on its way without regret. What happens to epiphanies after death? Scientists have argued about this for centuries.
But you cannot see where the spiritually grown man has gone, any more than you can see the tracks of the birds flying in the sky. In death, as in life, those who walk without paths leave no tracks.
